Contemporary chamber music meets electronica

One of Australia’s most progressive new music ensembles meets one of Australia’s most innovative electronic music collectives in a one-off event immersing its audience in a sea of sound waves, noises, rhythms and fragments of strange melodies. This unique encounter between contemporary chamber music and electronica explores modern musical aesthetics, resulting in a world of hybrid sound and unsettling textures.

Clan Analogue artists contributing to this event include winduptoys, Koshowko, Apell, The Good Omen, Reductionist, Thomas Reiner and Anne Scott, plus music composed by the Re-Sound ensemble.

Re-sound formed in 1996 at Monash University, where artistic director Thomas Reiner lectures in composition, with the aim of creating a performance platform for contemporary sound and music. Their performances and recordings have ranged from modernist classics and electroacoustic works through to multimedia events and improvised experimentation, including a recent CD release of Terry Riley’s classic minimalist work ‘In C’ on Move Records.
